​        Dogma is often just a state of mind in the form of a construct imposed on an individual by society. The performance, depicting a struggle and an attempt to find a way to cope with these circumstances, is an inner struggle, in direct contrast with the photographic record. Are the photos the reality of the performer’s past or a vision of his future? Freedom is captured here as an ephemeral counterpart to the more grandiose, naturalist reality of the performer’s dogmatic state of mind. Are we able to free ourselves from all prejudices and adopt freedom as our primary state of mind?
